Private Ralph John Smith
On November 11th of this year I posted about my Grandfather's service in WWI and how he and 4 of his brothers all fought in the war at the same time. The photos above are of his brother Ralph John Smith. Ralph served with the 110th Canadian Over-Seas expeditionary force, Perth Battalion. He joined the Army on January 4th, 1916 and was sent to Shorncliffe Camp near Folkstone England.
The photo on the left shows he qualified as "RB"and "L", the photo on the right explains RB was Rifle Bomber and L was a Lewis Gunner (machine gun).
